A Case Study Published in 2025 Global Wound Conference
This case report demonstrates that the use of a biomimetic scaffold (ExoMesh) loaded with mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes significantly accelerated the healing of a chronic leg wound in a patient with poorly controlled diabetes. The treatment achieved a 74.3% reduction in wound area within 11 weeks and was well-tolerated with a good safety profile.
Key Results
- Healing Efficacy: The wound area decreased substantially with its area reducing by 74.3% from an initial 17.5 cm2 (5.0 x 3.5 cm) to 4.5 cm2 (2.5 x 1.8 cm).
- Tissue Improvement: Healthy granulation tissue formation and epithelialization were observed.
- Safety: No signs of local infection, inflammation, or adverse reactions were reported throughout the treatment period.
